David Ethan Shapiro is a Writer/Director/Producer that grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. He started writing scripts when he was 10 years old, and has been making movies ever since. He graduated with honors from NYU Tisch, where he majored in Film and TV Production.

As a writer, David has been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship (Semi-Finalist in 2013).

David was recently the lead Producer of Kristen Stewart's directorial debut short film, Come Swim, which screened at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art. The film received Theatrical Release nation-wide, and qualified for Oscar consideration in 2018. David previously collaborated with Kristen on a music video that they Co- Directed together, and David produced. 

He is the CEO of Starlight Partners, a production company based in Los Angeles. Under the Starlight banner, he has Written, Directed, and Produced Live-Action and Animated projects that have screened at prestigious festivals around the world, accumulated millions of views online, and have been featured in Rolling Stone, the NYTimes, and exhibited in theaters, as well as on US national television.
